07.06.2022Dr. Hina Ghafoor, Assistant Professor at the Ripah International University, Islamabad, answers questions about sustainability and peace in preparation for this year's DAAD-Alumni-Forum 'Creating Change'.
What does sustainable work and research mean to you?
For me, sustainable work and research depend on the individual's appraisal of any situation. Intrinsic motivation is the key for sustainable work.
What is important in this regard is the awareness that one should work until he has the capacity to do so and that too with planning. One should not think in terms of life before and after retirement instead the life goes in continuity. It will have its own ups and downs. Hence, for me sustainable work and research is another name of continuous struggle.
In your opinion, what needs to be done to make the world more peaceful?
In my opinion, the world will be more peaceful when one becomes sincere to oneself in all aspects of life.
How do you plan to share the results of the forum in a lasting way?
I will try my best to share the results and conclusion of the session with my students because they can bring change first by knowing and then by implementing.
Which animal would you consider the better human?
A Human being is known as a social animal and he himself would be the best if he performs his duties well by unconditionally accepting himself and others.
