Become a member of the Alumni Association

Around 1,200 alumni are already members of the Alumni Association. As a member, you have the opportunity to benefit from special services while at the same time giving something back to your university.

The Alumni Association is a non-profit organisation and supports various projects, such as student initiatives, the Ideas Islands and the German Scholarship Programme.

You can apply for membership via our alumni portal (as part of the registration process) or by contacting our alumni office. It can be cancelled at any time and always takes effect at the end of the year.

The membership fee:

The minimum annual membership fee is 25 euros per year

Students receive membership for 12 euros per year.

The membership fee is tax-deductible.

Alumni Portal

Keep in touch with your former student friends via our alumni portal, search for and find fellow students you thought were lost or make new contacts in the worldwide alumni network of your Alma Julia.

Are you looking for new professional challenges? Discover the job exchange of the university's Career Service and job offers "by alumni, for alumni" in the Alumni Portal. We look forward to posting your vacancies too.

Alumni events
If you are registered on the alumni portal, you will be regularly invited to our alumni events. Alumni & Friends members receive a reduced admission price. You can also view pictures and descriptions of current and past events here.

Alumni mentoring
One of our most successful projects is alumni mentoring. Find out more about the organisation of our mentoring relays. We look forward to your commitment as a mentor and your participation as a mentee.

Alumni newsletter
Once a quarter, you will receive our electronic alumni newsletter with information from the international network.

Alumni portraits
A portrait of one of our alumni from the network is published approximately once a month. Find out why the Chilean Minister of Justice studied in Würzburg, what the favourite animal of an award-winning nature documentary filmmaker is or how studying prepares a cabaret artist for professional life.

Graduation parties/year group reunions
We would like to offer you our help with meetings with your group in Würzburg and would be happy to support you in organising your stay if possible.

Use of the university library
Would you like to continue using the University Library's wealth of knowledge after graduation, but don't know exactly how to access it as an alumnus? Then visit the information page to find out about the various rights of use for alumni.

Participation in university sports for alumni
Participation in university sports at the University of Würzburg is possible as part of an association membership (see below).

To support the goal of developing a strong community around the University of Würzburg, the chairman of the association has proposed the introduction of a 'Social Engagement Award'. The prize of 200 euros per faculty is intended to recognise people in the faculties who make a special effort to promote cooperation within the faculty community. These could be, for example, student councils, students, doctoral candidates, secretaries, professors or other employees. The prize was introduced in the reporting year and has already been awarded in some faculties.
