Guided tour of the exhibition at the Rudolf Virchow Centre

A guided tour of the exhibition on the life and work of Rudolf Virchow - the founder of modern medicine - will take place at the Rudolf Virchow Centre (RVZ) on 10 February 2023 at 5 pm.

As part of the supporting programme to the current exhibition on Rudolf Virchow's 200th birthday at the Rudolf Virchow Centre (RVZ), there will be a guided tour with two lectures. Speakers are Martina Kerl, the curator of the exhibition, and PD Dr. Sabine Schlegelmilch from the Institute of the History of Medicine at the JMU.

Rudolf Virchow, the founder of modern medicine, is one of the greatest physicians in history. In Würzburg, he achieved spectacular research successes in the newly established chair of pathological anatomy in the 1850s. It was at the Juliusspital that he developed his "cellular pathology", which became so famous and set a completely new direction for medicine. The exhibition was curated by the Munich designer Martina Kerl.

Date of the event: 10 February at 5 pm in the foyer of the RVZ/IMIB/HIRI building. It is organised with the kind support of the RVZ.
