Climate projects by our students

As part of the Virtual Exchange "Climate Justice: From Inequality to Inclusion", our students work in small groups with participants from the countries involved in the project to develop projects on the topics of climate change and climate justice.
Here you can find an overview of the projects developed so far.

“Our primary goal was to create a safe space for intergenerational dialogue in which people who are interested in climate change issues can freely and uncensoredly share their own feelings on various topics related to climate justice and climate anxiety without having to follow certain scientific standards. The focus was clearly set on the emotions associated with various future perspectives such as family planning, which were visualised in drawings.”

“The idea behind the project was to collect recipes from all over the world to give people easy access to a healthy diet, which at the same time takes place within planetary boundaries and could therefore theoretically ensure that everyone is fed. There are already some recipes on our blog. We are open to new suggestions and look forward to any additional support to expand our collection.”

“The aim was to move the participants from knowledge to action. One of the two organised events took place at the vocational school in Schweinfurt. There, we practised communicative situations in the health sector, for example recognising and preventing heat-related illnesses, motivational interviewing on lifestyle cobenefits (e.g. plant-based nutrition and muscle-based locomotion) and recognising new infectious diseases. In Setif (Algeria), we organised a debating club at the university.”

“The basic idea of the project was to use social networks as a means of communication, exchange and outreach to educate and raise awareness of current climate issues. For this purpose, we set up the Instagram profile ‘climate_care_aware’. Findings from various disciplines should help us to consider different points of view (e.g. scientific and ethical perspectives) and derive individual options for action in order to reduce our carbon footprint and thus live more sustainably.”
