Climate change, species extinction, social exploitation and other consequences of human activity are pushing humanity to its obvious limits and have triggered a rethink in the way we treat people and the environment. Businesses and companies have also begun to organise their activities sustainably. Ingdilligenz management consultants help their clients - from start-ups to DAX-listed companies - in the process of this sustainability transformation. They show companies how sustainability can be integrated into their strategy, organisation and processes, how this can create new opportunities in the competition for markets, investors and employees and how this can enable economic success in harmony with people and the environment. Data and digitalisation play an important role in this transformation. In his presentation, Dr Marcus Dill, Co-Founder of Ingdilligenz, also presents the history of the company and his own career from scientist to software developer to repeatedly successful founder. He describes the diverse potential of a career as a management consultant with a purpose.
Dr Marcus Dill studied natural sciences at the Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg, graduating with a doctorate, and subsequently worked as a researcher at MIT and as a software developer at SAP. He has now been a successful entrepreneur for two decades and advises companies and organisations on topics relating to digitalisation, governance, analytics and sustainability.
Crises (COVID, the war in Ukraine, climate, energy, finance, etc.) that are hitting faster and harder make it difficult to plan a solid long-term professional future. How can I position myself resiliently on the labour market? What opportunities do I have in a professional field that I find personally interesting but in which I have no training? How can I react to external influences and what can I expect?
- Lateral entry
- Networking skills
- Resilience in the labour market
When I started studying translation in 1999, the first lecture I attended said: 'Machines will not take over the translation profession any time soon'. Shortly after I graduated in 2006, Google Translate was released and since then many other AI-based tools have been added, for example DeepL. How many more jobs will AI be taking over in the future? My talk is less about the future development of AI and more about the fact that people, especially humanities graduates, are needed more than ever, and the skills I still benefit from today. It's about being optimistic about the future, and that a lot of things only make sense in retrospect.
Find out about the diverse fields of work that are open to you as a student at one of the world's leading strategy consultancies and gain an insight into what a career in consulting at the Boston Consulting Group can look like without a degree in economics.
In this presentation, Theresia (Scholten), an alumna of the University of Würzburg, will talk about her path into management consulting and how her work as a consultant with a background in psychology is organised.
BCG is more than just a place for strategy development. The company develops new solutions in close collaboration with its clients and then implements them together. This is the only way to create strategies that pay off as sustainable competitive advantages. This is the only way to build trust.
BCG invites students from all disciplines who are willing to constantly learn new things through challenging tasks.
Ms Scholten will be happy to answer your questions!
Requests for further lecture topics and cooperation enquiries for the coming semesters can be addressed to Steffen Eichhorn at any time: steffen.eichhorn@uni-wuerzburg.de, 0931/31-89778
