Career entry for students of the humanities - profile building and application training

02/18/2025

Students of humanities subjects often approach the job search with low self-confidence. This is reinforced by the changeable labour market forecasts.

The aim of this 3-part, consecutive workshop is for students to become aware of the expertise and key competencies they have acquired during their studies, but also outside of university. After a potential analysis - the best preparation for a job interview - the participants will work out strategies in comparison with job advertisements and suitable professional fields on how to use this profile in applications or at which points they can expand it or adapt it to specific professions.

The workshop will take place on 14.03., 20.03 and 21.03.25 from 09:00-13:00 c.t. in the Didactics and Language Center Room 01.037.  The first event will be held as a Zoom meeting.

The following aspects will be dealt with in this workshop:

  • In which areas do students of humanities have good career entry opportunities?
  • What does my competence profile look like?
  • Where and with what strategy can I find suitable job offers at all?
  • How do I position myself correctly in the application situation?
  • How do I prepare unsolicited applications?
