An unsolicited application offers the opportunity not only to react to vacancies, but also to proactively approach potential employers and to focus on one's own motivation and strengths. It is crucial that you design the application in such a way that it clearly highlights the added value you can offer the company. This will be addressed in the lecture.

For a successful unsolicited application, in addition to researching the desired employer and possible fields of application, it is particularly important to examine one's own competence profile. The competence profile captures the current status of your competence acquisition. It makes visible knowledge, skills and abilities that you have acquired formally or informally. The acquisition of skills can have taken place within the framework of (academic) education, but also outside of school and university, and implies both theoretical knowledge and practical experience.
