SCIENTIA Mentoring for Female Doctoral Researchers.

The programme is aimed at advanced female doctoral candidates at the University of Würzburg who wish to pursue a career in science. The focus is on the individual development of each participant, profitable networking within the group, and support from a mentor. Regular training sessions and workshops on various career development topics complete the programme.

Target group: advanced female doctoral researchers who want to plan their career after the doctorate.

Programme duration: 18 months; for successful participation in the mentoring programme, you will receive a certificate from the Gender Equality Academy.

Programme Elements

Mentoring:

In the matching phase (first four months of the programme), the programme management supports you in finding a suitable mentor.

The mentoring phase extends over 14 months, during which you have the opportunity to benefit from your mentor's experience and work on your own objectives.

Networking:

Regular meetings organised by the programme management with keynote speeches serve your networking across the disciplines. At additional self-organised peer group meetings, you can exchange information about the specific requirements of your career phase.

Qualification:

Workshops on career-relevant topics and competencies serve to provide you with additional qualifications for a career both within and outside academia.

All trainings are conducted by external trainers for your group.

Career guidance:

You will be invited to an initial personal interview before the kick-off event, in which the individual starting point as well as the goals for the programme period will be recorded.

The mid-term review also takes place in a personal meeting with the programme coordinators.

The kick-off and closing events also provide impulses for the participants' own goal-setting work and offer an introduction to a strong network.
