SCIENTIA Postdoc

SCIENTIA qualification program for postdocs and habilitation candidates

What requirements - qualifications, competencies, skills and other performance requirements - are placed on a female scientist with a doctorate so that she can successfully fill a scientific leadership position after her doctorate and manage the associated work tasks profitably?

In workshops and training sessions, the postdoc program focuses on interdisciplinary skills such as leadership, compatibility, acquiring third-party funding and other key areas that are required between the doctorate and habilitation (early phase). Participants also receive support in their strategic career planning as managers in outlook discussions.

Target group: female scientists with a doctorate in the postdoc phase who want to plan their future career.

Program duration: 12 months; you will receive a certificate from the Gender Equality Academy for successful participation in the postdoc program.

Program elements

Networking:

Regular meetings organized by the programme management will help you to network across the subject groups.

At additional self-organized peer group meetings, you can discuss the specific requirements of your career phase.

Qualification:

Workshops on career-relevant topics and skills provide additional qualification for a career within or outside academia.

All training sessions are conducted by external trainers for your group.

Career support:

You will be invited to an initial personal interview before the kick-off event, in which your individual starting point and goals for the duration of the program will be determined.

The interim assessment also takes place in a personal meeting with the program coordinators.

If required, you can also request individual or group coaching with experienced coaches.

The kick-off and closing events also provide impetus for your own goal-setting work and offer access to a strong network.
