Language skills are an essential building block for successful integration. Both foreign students planning a stay in Germany and German-speaking students considering attending a foreign university should try to overcome the challenge of learning a foreign language. In doing so, it is important to balance one's own level of knowledge with the demands at the partner university.

For students with language skills, it is advisable to deepen or refresh their existing knowledge by reading, writing and speaking a lot before starting their stay abroad.

For students without knowledge of the language of the target country (for incoming students German, for outgoing students Chinese), there are a number of opportunities at JMU and the city of Würzburg to train and further your knowledge.
