Islam-Education in European Schools

This lecture provides an introduction to Islamic education in Europe.
After a short historical introduction to Islam, the lecture will focus on Islam in school and educational contexts. Questions that will be discussed are: aspects of teaching about Islam within religious education in different European contexts, different types of Islamic religious education, as well as Islamophobia and the role of school and teachers to tackle it.
