How can international relations be explained without reducing them to rigid binaries such as friendship and enmity or cooperation and competition? Indian political scientist Professor Deepshikha Shahi addressed this question in a public guest lecture at the University of Würzburg.

How do understandings of age and gender change across different social and cultural contexts? This question was at the heart of the international ICAS:MP workshop "The Challenge of Gender", held in Würzburg on 2–3 July 2026. Scholars from Germany, India, and other countries came together to discuss gender, age(ing), and social change from historical, social scientific, and cultural studies perspectives.

In autumn 2025, young researchers from India were guests at the University of Würzburg, and in December a Würzburg delegation made a return visit. The Institute of Anatomy organised the exchange.

Getting Indo-German research projects off the ground: This is the aim of a joint programme of the Indian Ministry of Education and the German Federal Foreign Office. The University of Würzburg is represented with two projects.
