The Forum Africa Centre of Julius-Maximilians-Universität of Würzburg is an association of researchers who have been working closely with partners in Africa for many years.

Our goal is to network this research and cooperation, and to make it better known to the public through events, and thus at the same time providing an insight into the cultural and scientific landscapes of the African continent.

Within the Forum Africa Centre, the Young Africa Centre has been established as the platform for young researchers interested in Africa.

Claudia Roth, Staatsministerin für Kultur und Medien, besuchte am zweiten Tag des Africa Festivals 2024 das Uni-Zelt. Dort diskutierte sie mit mehr als 20 Studierenden über die Aufarbeitung des Kolonialismus.

Bilateraler Studiengang mit Partneruniversität in Tansania gestartet

Im neuen Masterstudiengang „Epidemiology and Biostatistics“ haben die bilateralen Veranstaltungen zwischen der Uni Würzburg und der Catholic University of Health and Allied Sciences in Mwanza begonnen.

The recently published German-language “Handbook Democratic Republic of the Congo” offers a total of 36 articles that shed light on all facets of the country. Many of the articles were written by academics from the Africa Center Forum and Congolese alumni of the University of Würzburg.
