International Affairs
In addition to continuously increasing its cooperation with renowned universities around the globe and furthering international research collaborations, JMU places a high priority on creating an international campus. To foster exchange and cooperation with outstanding visiting researchers, JMU established the Siebold-Collegium – Institute for Advanced Studies (SCIAS) in 2016. Nearly ten percent of the university’s students and approximately seven percent of its staff have an international background.
International students receive support from the International Office, tutoring schemes, language courses, and projects for intercultural competence. JMU’s Welcome Centre offers assistance to international scientists in administrative and practical matters regarding their move to Würzburg.
Simultaneously, JMU promotes outgoing mobility by providing more than 1400 student exchange options at partner universities, including strategic partnerships with, e.g., UBC Vancouver, UT Austin, Peking University, U Caen, and TU Wrocław.
