Additional Information for International Applicants
International applicants are treated the same as German nationals if they fall into any of the categories listed below.
- Foreign nationals holding a German higher education entrance qualification: This category also includes stateless individuals and individuals who obtained a subject-restricted higher education entrance qualification by studying in a programme at a university of applied sciences in Germany. It does not include foreign nationals or stateless individuals who were awarded a subject-restricted higher education entrance qualification upon successful completion of the Feststellungsprüfung exam at a Studienkolleg school.
- Nationals of EU member states other than Germany: This category also includes nationals of those EEA countries that are not members of the EU (Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway).
- Individuals resident in Germany who are not nationals of any EU member state or of Iceland, Liechtenstein, or Norway but whose family members are nationals of any of those countries and are working in Germany.
