IRTG 2991 – Start-up Meeting at IISER Thiruvananthapuram
13.03.2025From 25.02. – 28.02.2025, four months after the official start of the International Research Group 2991, the involved PIs and PhD students from India and Germany came together on the beautiful campus of IISER Thiruvananthapuram for a Start-up Meeting.
The event – excellently hosted and organized by the Indian partners – provided the perfect opportunity for the members of the international project team to meet in person and discuss ongoing and future collaborations. The event was kindly supported by the presence and motivating remarks of representatives of the funding agencies DFG and DST.
The program mainly included tutorial lectures by the PIs to provide the students, most of them at the beginning of their PhD studies, with the basic knowledge necessary to successfully enter the research fields of the IRTG 2991. Additionally, the students got the chance to meet and discuss during a poster session, a “Only Students” discussion, and a boat trip in the scenic Kerala Backwaters.
