WiR im SS 2019
Mit der Veranstaltungsreihe holt das Schreibzentrum | Writing Center jedes Semester international agierende und renommierte SchriftstellerInnen oder JournalistInnen nach Würzburg. Während ihres ein- bis zweiwöchigen Aufenthaltes leiten sie unter anderem Workshops, geben öffentliche Lesungen und nehmen an Plenumsdiskussionen teil.
Writer in Residence im Sommersemester 2019
Vom 2.7. bis 12.7. war Yaa Gyasi am Schreibzentrum | Writing Center. Sie ist die Autorin des 2016 veröffentlichten und mehrfach preisgekrönten Romans Heimkehren (engl. Original: Homegoing).

Gyasi will read in English from her award-winning novel Homegoing, and Christina Theresa Motsch of the Mainfranken Theater will read from the German translation. A book signing will follow the reading and discussion.

About the Author
Yaa Gyasi is a Ghanaian-American novelist. Her debut novel, Homegoing, published in 2016, won her, at the age of 26, the National Book Critics Circle's John Leonard Award for best first book, the PEN/Hemingway Award for a first book of fiction, the National Book Foundation's "5 under 35" honors for 2016 and the American Book Award.
