Local War Memorials and Personal Remembrance (2021)

My project analyses local war monuments that list the name of killed and missing soldiers with the example of the World War monument in my home village Grettstadt, a village in Schweinfurt County. At first, I will introduce the history of the monument and then I will present the answers of my two interview partners who are both descendants of soldiers who are listed on the monument. My two interview partners are from different generations, and I will focus especially on the different points of view that different generations have on the same monument. In the end I will compare this to the statement of an American student who originates from Afghanistan.
