Before considering an application

Before you start, please read about the Essential Qualifications and check if you meet them.

Preparing and submitting an application

Applications for the program starting in October 2025 is open fromJanuary 15 until March 15, 2025 (midnight German time).

Applications are accepted online only; begin with registration at the following site:

WueStudy (Application Platform)

Important hints regarding the use of WueStudy:

1. If you are not registered yet, please register. A detailed video tutorial for the registration process is available here.
2. After registration, log in and go to "Start Application" to start your application.
3. Enable email notifications by clicking "Yes, enable Email notifications" (otherwise you will not get automatically informed about status updates of your application).
4. Please select "Winter Semester 2025/26" as application semester and click "start application".
5. Click on "Add request".
6. In the application form, select the following options:
   • University entrance qualification: Select your appropriate qualification.
   • Desired degree: Select "Master's (1 major)"
   • Desired subject: Select "MA FOKUS Life Sciences Major (2015)"
   • Subject-related semester: "1. subject semester" (should be filled in automatically)
   • Type of admission: "Aptitude test / admission free" (should be filled in automatically)
7. Click on "Continue" and provide the required information and upload the necessary documents in as many steps you need until March 15.
8. Once application is complete, carefully review the information you have provided. Proceed by confirming that the data you entered ist correct and submit your request.

Please note: after final submission, no further changes are possible.

What to prepare before your start

You will have to upload scans (only pdf files are allowed) of the following documents:

• Curriculum Vitae
• University entrance certificate (in many cases this equals the school leaving certificate from you secondary school = high school = grammar school)
• BSc certificate
• BSc transcript. Transcripts must include grading scales, which must be visible in your scans. If these are missing, please provide official university details of the grading scale, as we will not be able to process applications or follow up missing details without them.
• If applicable: Certificates/Transcripts of any other academic degrees
• Language certificate (if available; check here  for more Information)
• Note: For our program you do NOT need the uni-assist "VPD - preliminary review documentation"

Please ensure scans are legible and not too large (300 dpi is usually sufficient).
