Insights into professional practice with the mentoring programme
11/28/2024The mentoring programme in cooperation between the Alumni Office and the Career Centre brings students, doctoral candidates and young graduates together with working alumni of the University of Würzburg, who support them with questions and problems relating to their professional development. Interested parties can get an overview of the programme at the lecture on 16 January from 4 - 5 p.m. s.t.
The aim of the mentoring programme is to bring together students and doctoral students at the University of Würzburg (so-called ‘mentees’) with experienced, working alumni (former students/mentors). This brings enormous advantages for both sides: the mentees benefit from the experience of their mentors, e.g. with regard to professional/career planning, internships & theses, leadership and social skills. The mentor remains in contact with academic life through their participation, they experience current developments in teaching and research at first hand and can gain inspiration from them. They also train their soft skills by supporting their mentee.
If you would like to find out more about the mentoring programme, please attend the announced lecture.
