Even the most remarkable discovery will never attain its full impact or reach its intended audience without a clear, visual and compelling presentation. While most scientific content is described in journal articles, illustrations, graphical abstracts and data visualizations are often underestimated tools for communicating results.

The aim of this two-day workshop is to introduce undergraduates, PhD students and scientists, as well as anyone else interested, to the basic principles of scientific graphic design. You will learn to effectively visualize scientific results and concepts by developing the ability to efficiently move from raw data to figures and illustrations (Day 1). Engage, inform and inspire your audience about your research.

The workshop will also introduce you to Adobe Illustrator (Day 2). After the theoretical part of the workshop, you will have the opportunity to practice an efficient workflow with Adobe Illustrator in a hands-on session. This will enable you to create your own digital scientific illustrations.
